Lleida hosted last 29th and 30th of September 2022 the first edition of the BIT Congress (Bioeconomy, Innovation and Technology), aimed to strengthen the ecosystem of companies, technology and research centers, entrepreneurs and start-ups and enhance the transformative capacity and improvement of these sectors.
The Congress, organized by the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda of the Generalitat de Catalunya, gathered more than 250 assistants (face-to-face and virtual) from 5 countries, 3 workshops and more than 60 speakers.
Òscar Guerrero, predoctoral researcher and associated professor in Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) presented the “LIFE NIMBUS Project: biomethane production obtained from sewage sludge and its use as sustainable fuel for public transport”.
The Bioeconomy Strategy of Catalonia 2021-2030 (EBC2030) is a strategy of the Government of Catalonia (Gov/ 23/2020 Government Agreement) that aims to promote the growth and sustainable development of the Catalan economy by promoting the production of biological resources and local and renewable processes.
